A Flexible Half-Letter Planning System

Planner inserts work best when they solve a specific need without forcing you into a complicated system.

This set gives you eight focused layouts that can be printed individually and rearranged whenever your priorities change.

Because every insert is undated, you can begin at any point in the year and avoid wasting unused calendar pages.

Each US Letter sheet holds two portrait half-letter inserts. A single cut down the center creates pages that measure 5.5 ร— 8.5 inches.

That size fits many half-letter ring binders and disc-bound notebooks after punching, while still offering comfortable writing space for everyday plans.

Whatโ€™s Included

The Daily Overview insert brings your date, three priorities, to-do list, appointments, and notes onto one page. It is useful when you want a quick plan without assigning every task to a specific hour.

The Daily Schedule insert provides hourly rows from 6 AM through 9 PM, plus space for focus items or follow-up notes. Use it for appointments, classes, work blocks, errands, or any day when timing matters.

The Weekly Overview insert displays Monday through Sunday with a separate weekly focus area. Its companion Weekly Tasks page organizes work or school, home, personal, and errand lists, then adds space for current priorities and anything that should move forward.

The Goal & Action Plan insert connects one clear goal with its purpose, target date, milestones, next actions, progress notes, and reward.

The Weekly Habit Tracker holds six habits across seven days and includes areas for an intention and end-of-week reflection.

Two note-taking inserts complete the set. Lined Notes supports writing, lists, and meeting notes, while Dot Grid Notes works well for flexible layouts, small sketches, habit ideas, or simple collections.

How to Print and Prepare the Inserts

Print the PDF on US Letter paper in landscape orientation. Select Actual Size or 100% scale in your print settings so the finished inserts retain their intended dimensions.

Avoid Fit to Page, which may shrink the layouts and change how they align with existing half-letter pages.

Cut each content sheet once along the pale center guide. A paper trimmer gives the straightest edge, although scissors and a ruler can also work.

Before punching several pages, compare one finished insert with a page already used in your planner. This quick check helps you match the correct ring or disc spacing.

Ways to Build Your Planner

Start with only the layouts that support your immediate needs. You might pair a Weekly Overview with Weekly Tasks, then add one Daily Overview for especially busy days.

If appointments control your schedule, use the hourly page instead and keep a Lined Notes insert behind it for details.

Tips for Better Everyday Use

Choose one regular time to review your pages, such as Sunday evening or the start of each workday.

Transfer unfinished tasks intentionally instead of copying everything automatically. This keeps the planner focused on what still matters.

Use the Top 3 Priorities area for outcomes that would make the day feel successful. Keep smaller actions in the main task list.

On the habit tracker, track behaviors you can complete consistently rather than vague results that are difficult to measure.
