Overview
Quarterback wristbands simplify communication when a full play name would be too slow or difficult to hear.
A coach signals a number, and the player matches it to the corresponding line. The system can also support receivers, running backs, defensive players, and youth flag football teams.
The printable does not include a preset playbook or team terminology. Add your own formations, motions, plays, tags, cadence notes, or reminders to the numbered spaces.
Whatโs Included
Page 1 contains eight Size A inserts measuring 3.75 ร 2.25 inches. Each holds 18 calls in a three-column grid.
Page 2 contains six Size B inserts measuring 4.5 ร 2.25 inches, with room for 24 calls. They are rotated on the sheet to fit without resizing.
Page 3 provides four Size C inserts measuring 5 ร 2.75 inches, each with a 36-call grid.
Page 4 includes three Size D inserts measuring 5.25 ร 3.25 inches. Each holds 60 calls across five columns. A call key suggests abbreviations for formation, motion, play, tag, and cadence.
The final page explains how to measure, print, prepare, cut, and test the cards. It also includes a game-day setup checklist and a quick reference to every card size.
How to Choose the Right Template
Measure the clear insert window inside your wrist coach before selecting a page. Do not assume that every product labeled youth, teen, standard, or adult uses the same window.
Wristband dimensions vary between manufacturers and models, and the usable window may be smaller than the overall wristband.
Choose the closest template that fits inside the measured window. If none matches exactly, select a smaller card or trim a test copy evenly. Avoid enlarging a card because scaling can reduce readability or cause buckling.
Call capacity matters too. A smaller list with familiar numbers is often easier to scan than a crowded card.
If your wrist coach has multiple windows, you can divide calls by situation, formation, personnel group, or offense and defense rather than forcing every option onto one insert.
Printing Tips and Game-Day Setup
Open the PDF and print the selected page at 100% or Actual Size.
Turn off Fit to Page, Shrink Oversized Pages, or any automatic scaling option. Measure the calibration square with a ruler. It should be exactly one inch on every side.
Add calls by hand after printing, or use a PDF annotation tool to type them before printing. Keep abbreviations short and use language the player already knows.
Cut along the solid outer border, slide one card into the wristband, and close the window to confirm the text remains visible.
Prepare at least one backup in case the first insert becomes wet, damaged, or lost.
