About This Christmas Games Printable
This printable combines four game styles instead of repeating the same type of puzzle.
Some players can focus on spelling and vocabulary, while others may prefer quick choices or creative brainstorming. The mix makes the set useful when a group includes children, teens, and adults with different interests.
All four activities are designed for front-only printing. The game pages have roomy answer lines, short directions, and a consistent layout. You can hand out the entire set to each player or print only the pages that fit your gathering.
Games Included
Christmas Word Scramble contains eighteen familiar seasonal words, including reindeer, ornament, stocking, snowflake, sleigh, wreath, cocoa, and candy cane.
Players unscramble as many as possible before time expires. The matching answers appear on the host page for quick scoring.
Christmas A-to-Z Challenge gives players one line for every letter. They write a Christmas or winter word beginning with each letter, then compare lists. The scoring suggestion awards one point for a valid answer and two points when no one else wrote the same word.
Christmas Categories includes three rounds with six prompts each. Before a round begins, choose a letter.
Players then write an answer beginning with that letter for categories such as holiday food, winter activity, warm drink, decoration, dessert, or something found in a stocking.
Christmas Would You Rather includes twelve pairs of festive choices. Players might choose between building a snowman and decorating cookies, handmade gifts and a surprise party, or a large gathering and a quiet family night.
The page works as a written game or a group conversation starter.
How to Prepare and Play
Print one copy of the answer key for the host. For written competition, print one copy of the selected activity pages for each player or team.
Set out pencils, choose a timer, and review the short scoring rule printed at the top of each page.
You can run all four games as a mini tournament. Award points after each round and add the totals at the end.
For a shorter activity, choose the Word Scramble or Would You Rather page on its own. The host notes also include three tie-breakers for close scores.
Ways to Adapt the Games
For younger players, remove the timer or let partners work together. You can also accept broader winter words on the A-to-Z page and talk through difficult letters as a group.
For older players, shorten the timer or require more specific answers during Christmas Categories.
Large groups can play in teams to reduce printing and encourage conversation. At an office or classroom party, assign a spokesperson to record each team’s answers.
For a family gathering, let everyone complete Would You Rather individually, then compare the choices that produced the most disagreement.
Printing Tips
Print the PDF on US Letter paper at 100% or Actual Size.
Standard copy paper is suitable for a single event. Heavier paper can make the pages sturdier if you plan to use them at several gatherings throughout the season.
The full-color game pages use white backgrounds to keep the layouts bright and easy to read. Use your printer’s best-quality color setting for the clearest results.
Keep the Answer Key and Host Notes page separate so the word scramble solutions remain hidden during play.
