Three Useful Christmas Tag Layouts
Each printable page offers a different balance of tag size and writing space.
You can print one layout for every present or mix the pages to match large boxes, small packages, treat bags, and handmade gifts. Altogether, the three tag pages include 28 blank gift tags.
Standard Horizontal Gift Tags
The first page includes ten horizontal tags arranged in two columns. Their wide shape works well on gift boxes, bags, cookie tins, and wrapped books.
Each tag uses classic evergreen branches, holly, red berries, pinecones, and gold stars around a generous blank writing area.
These tags are useful when several gifts need coordinated labels. Write the recipient’s name in the open center, add a short greeting, or use the blank area for both the recipient and giver names.
Large Vertical Gift Tags
The second page contains six tall tags with clipped upper corners and a centered punch-hole guide. A decorated Christmas tree, ornaments, snowflakes, stars, and wrapped gifts frame the blank center without crowding the writing space.
Attach these tags to gift baskets, wine bags, larger wrapped boxes, or handmade presents. The extra writing room gives you space for a family name, a longer message, or care instructions for a homemade item.
Mini Christmas Gift Tags
The third page includes twelve smaller tags for compact gifts. Gingerbread cookies, candy canes, wrapped presents, greenery, berries, and gold snowflakes create a cheerful border while leaving the center open for a name.
Use these mini tags on candy bags, classroom treats, neighbor gifts, ornaments, stocking stuffers, small boxes, or party favors. A first name, initials, or a short greeting will remain clear after cutting.
Ways to Personalize the Blank Tags
The open centers give you several ways to match the tags to your wrapping. Add names with a black, dark green, red, or metallic pen.
You can also add a small sticker, stamped initial, handwritten family greeting, or a few gold pen details without covering the printed artwork.
For coordinated wrapping, repeat one lettering style and one ribbon color across the whole set. If children are helping, let them add a name or small drawing in the blank space before an adult cuts out the finished tags.
Printing and Preparing the Tags
Print the PDF on US Letter paper in portrait orientation. Choose 100% or Actual Size so the tag outlines keep their intended dimensions.
White cardstock is recommended because it keeps the full-color artwork bright and creates sturdy tags that hold up well with ribbon or twine.
Cut along the outside edge of each tag with scissors or a paper trimmer. Use a standard hole punch at the printed circle, then thread ribbon or string through the opening.
Write on the tag before attaching it if the finished gift would make the writing surface uneven.
Craft Safety
Adults should supervise children using scissors, paper cutters, hole punches, ribbon, or twine. Keep small paper pieces and loose ties away from babies and young children because they may create choking or entanglement hazards.
