Buying a ring online is much less uncertain when you can compare a few careful measurements before choosing a size.

This womanโ€™s printable ring sizer strip gives you two cut-out strips, a complete US size chart, and actual-size comparison circles in one black-and-white PDF. The printable covers US sizes 3 through 13, including half sizes.

Because a home measurement can be affected by printer settings, paper, temperature, swelling, and technique, the pages include calibration bars and several reminders to verify your result with a jeweler before a high-stakes purchase.

Choosing Between Two Sizes

If your measurement lands between two marks, avoid treating the smaller number as an automatic choice. Band width, knuckle shape, and the maker’s sizing can affect comfort.

Wider bands may need a different fit than narrow bands, so a professional fitting is especially useful when the ring is broad or stacked with other rings.

This printable reports US sizes only. Other countries and sellers may label the same physical measurement differently, so use the millimeter columns when checking a brand’s chart.

Cross-Check With a Ring That Already Fits

Pages 3 and 4 provide actual-size circles for every included half size.

Choose a plain, round ring that fits the same finger. Place it flat over the circles until the black line sits just inside the ring’s opening with no visible white gap.

You can also measure straight across the ring’s inside opening and compare that number with the diameter column on page 2.

Use a ring from the intended finger whenever possible. Left and right hands may differ. Bent or unusually shaped rings are less reliable for this comparison.

How to Use the Printable Ring Sizer Strip

Cut around one strip and carefully cut the vertical slot. Wrap the strip around the base of the intended finger with the numbers facing out.

Feed the pointed end through the slot, then pull until the paper sits snugly without squeezing. Read the US size where the numbered section meets the slot edge.

Check that the loop can move over the knuckle with slight resistance. A ring needs enough room to pass the widest part of the finger, but it should not spin or slide freely at the base.

Never pull the strip so tightly that it pinches, changes the finger’s color, or causes tingling or numbness.

Repeat the process at least three times. Hands can change size during the day, especially after temperature shifts or exercise. If the readings do not agree, wait and measure again when your hands feel comfortable.

How to Print the Ring Sizer Correctly

Open the PDF in a reader that lets you control print scaling. Select US Letter paper, then choose 100% or Actual Size.

Turn off options labeled Fit, Shrink, Scale to Fit, or borderless enlargement. These settings can subtly change the dimensions of the strip and circles.

Before cutting anything, place a ruler against both calibration bars on page 1. One must measure exactly 2 inches and the other exactly 50 millimeters.

If either measurement is off, review your print settings and print the page again. A calibration check matters more here than on a typical worksheet because a small scaling error can change the indicated ring size.

Important Accuracy and Safety Note

This printable is an at-home estimate, not a guaranteed ring size.

Printer scaling, paper thickness or stretch, cutting accuracy, finger temperature, swelling, and measurement technique can all affect the result.

Confirm your size with a professional jeweler before ordering an expensive, custom, engraved, resized, or non-returnable ring.

Remove the strip or ring immediately if you notice pain, numbness, tingling, discoloration, or swelling. Do not force a tight loop or ring over the knuckle.
